John Beller - District 2
John has been working toward this moment since 2020, when he became a founding member of the effort to create our Recreation District. As one of three appointed founding directors, John has spent 2025 building the district from the ground up, establishing policies, securing insurance, and laying the financial groundwork for a fully-funded district in 2026.
But John's commitment to Teton Valley recreation goes far deeper. He founded Pierre's Pedal Project, keeping bikes accessible and out of landfills. He ensures our summer pool opens every year. He's a competitor in local running and skiing events. As a retired engineer and project manager, John brings the technical expertise and management skills essential for overseeing complex recreation projects and multi-million dollar budgets.
Matt Thackray - District 1
Matt brings valuable public service experience to the Recreation District, having served the City of Victor on the Planning and Zoning Commission. His work on Planning and Zoning has given him deep insight into land use, development standards, and how to balance community needs with responsible growth. His skills that translate directly to managing parks and recreation facilities.
Matt's Planning and Zoning experience means he understands how to evaluate site plans, work with contractors and engineers, navigate regulatory requirements, and ensure projects serve the public interest. He's thoughtful, thorough, and knows how to ask the right questions when reviewing proposals. His commitment to representing Victor on Planning and Zoning demonstrates his dedication to public service and making decisions that benefit the entire community.
